If you have tried pottery and want to come back and learn more than this private class is perfect for you. It is aimed at anyone that wants to learn more and want to get more practice on the pottery wheel or Hand-building techniques. 

The session is very flexible in terms of what you want to focus on and customised according to your level and needs. Minimum booking is for 2 hour session. 

The options are varied.

The venue was lovely!!  It is all glass (not quite!) but very light and airy - one side looks over the canal.  The space is warm and inspiring with lots of pieces of pottery to get your creative juices flowing.

This fun pottery workshop, you'll have the opportunity to play and experiment as much as you like, all whilst making a beautiful ceramic keepsake. Perfect for anyone looking to try something new or has already tried it and wants to do more!  

During this pottery workshop, you'll gain practical skills and understand the basics of working with clay on the pottery wheel.  Take the opportunity to slow down and sink your hands into the present moment.

At the end of the class, you'll have a beautifully finished piece to call your own. If you love your clay creation and want to keep it forever then there is also the option to have the pottery glazed and fired (£5 per piece).

All material provided.
Collection 3/4 weeks after the session and will be kept for one months after the collection time .
In light of the current COVID-19 please be aware of the health and safety guild-lines. The studio is fully sanitised and cleaned before and after the workshop. Everyone is provided with antibacterial wipes, sanitisers, gloves, and disposable aprons. Please feel free to bring anything else with you to keep you safe and protected.

Really enjoyed the Sunday Pottery Wheel Throwing Class. Great introduction to the basics of clay and pottery making followed by a demo of pottery throwing, then ample time to practice and get to grips with throwing on the wheel ourselves.

Sampada’s ceramics workshop was insightful, relaxing and above all fun. The small group ensured that Sampada was able to provide tailored teaching to each student and coach them them in how to progress in various aspects of ceramics. 

Sampada’s class demonstrated multiple techniques used in hand modelling of clay to produce creative and organic structures as well as the use of the potters wheel for more symmetrical shapes. 

I would certainly recommend Sampada’s workshop to anyone who is wanting to learn more about ceramics or just wanting a flavour of it.

Sampada made me feel much more confident, the studio has a very relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to learn too quickly. She also makes sure everyone has something to show for their time too. With ample time to try the wheel and hand building the class gives an overall view of pottery and I really enjoyed using the wheel which I thought would be the hardest. With gentle guidance and helpful hints I loved everything I made and have 3 pieces to remember the day by. Highly recommend and will be back!

The class activities fit the description on Obby. The class was relaxed, we listened to some music and even managed to have some tea & biscuits. The teacher, Sampada, is a really easy person to talk to. She walked me through all techniques, was always knowledgable when I had no idea how to continue. The wheel throwing was probably my most favourite part! 

 The studio is neat and filled with Sampada’s artwork. First-timers in the area, make sure you have some extra time for you arrival - the entrance is little hidden and it took me some time to find it! :-)

The groups are kept purposely small which means that you get plenty of advice, attention and guidance. The explanations are clear, easy to follow and visual as Sampada adopts a hands on approach. The learning pace adapts to each person and it is made very clear that we are here to enjoy and relax.  She has this very communicative positive, energetic attitude which keeps the workshop light and fun. The venue is also great, it is bright, spacious and comfortable. Slightly Curious studio is a great place to both learn and practice pottery. We covered both throwing and hand-crafting in this session and I really enjoyed the format of it: she starts off by showing you different techniques and tips as to how to do things, then gives you free reign to try them out and experiment or practice. If you need, she's great at giving you guidance as to how to achieve a specific design if you have one in mind. Overall Slightly Curious is a wonderful and relaxing environment to do pottery in (I should also mention the studio is really aesthetic and has an adorable view on a canal with boats and ducks) and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try out or practice pottery!

A lovely afternoon with Sampada (who we recognised from TV!) She was very sweet and patient, listening to our aspirations for the session and showing us the best techniques to help achieve them. We look forward to seeing how our various items look after the firing! The studio is lovely, light and quiet. It has great views over the canal. Very highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic workshop with Sampada - couldn’t recommend it more! The studio overlooks a beautiful canal, creating a great atmosphere. Sampada went through different hand building techniques and how to throw on the wheel. She is a fantastic teacher and an amazing potter. Would love to come back. 

Brilliant workshop led by a brilliant teacher. Sampada guided us through various hand building techniques and wheel throwing. We managed to all create small pots and trinkets to take home with us.

This was great!!! I had a great time. Sampada made everything really easy and entertaining. And her studio is GORGEOUS. It was a great activity. If anything, I do believe that for the price of the workshop there should be at least glazing and firing included for one piece - maybe offer only one glazing colour, but give everyone the option to take one of their pieces home as something included in the price. If anyone wants more pieces, or different colours, they can pay for those! But I think this would give an even better memory of the workshop. It was a great day regardless, and would really recommend.

It was so good! We really wanted to do a workshop where we had the opportunity to try different methods of pottery. Sampada was such a great friendly teacher and made the whole 3 hours seem so relaxed, personal and enjoyable. We couldn’t believe how quickly the time went and has made us just want to book another course now. I’d highly recommend to anyone.
